CAT5e or CAT6 - What does my business need?
Most commercial business premises utilise CAT5E cables to provide data to all devices in the building including printers, computers, phone systems, security etc.
Cat5E has speeds of up to 1GBPS, with average internet speeds in the UK at 64 MBPS, CAT5E is more than capable of dealing with internet traffic as it stands.
Generally, new cabling installations use CAT6 cable as it has x10 high speed capabilities compared to CAT5E. This is great for future proofing your network. Who knows where we will be in 10 years?
